Sunlite®has partnered with Autism Speaks® to support research and awareness in the field of autism.
Our primary goal is to donate a minimum of $25,000 to Autism Speaks.
For every bulb sold Sunlite will donate one dollar to Autism Speaks.
Your purchase of a super cool blue light bulb will make this a reality.
Autism is a general term used to describe a group of complex developmental brain disorders – autism spectrum disorders – caused by a combination of genes and environmental influences.
Autism Speaks is the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization. It is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
Sunlite is a leading lightbulb and fixture manufacturer located in Brooklyn, N.Y., and is an active member in supporting the local community. The Light It Up Blue campaign, known by the acronym LIUB, is a perfect opportunity to expand our charitable outreach as Autism Speaks’ commitment to awareness through a “Blue Light source” is our area of expertise.
World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD), observed on April 2, was adopted by the United Nations in 2007 to shine a bright light on autism as a growing global health priority. Every year on World Autism Awareness Day, Autism Speaks celebrates its international “Light It Up Blue” campaign. Thousands of iconic landmarks, skyscrapers, schools, businesses and homes across the globe unite by shining bright blue lights in honor of the millions of individuals and families affected by autism. Individuals everywhere wear blue in honor of the autism community.
* Sunlite LIUB Promotion ends April 30, 2016
